What is LinkUS?

This is your chance to see — and influence — the blueprints for the future of our region. LinkUS is Central Ohio’s comprehensive transportation and growth initiative. It’s where safe sidewalks, fast and reliable public transit, protected bike lanes and expanded trails meet. (Or as we like to say, “link.”)

Explore how we’re investing in smart development to connect communities and create opportunities for a more equitable and sustainable region for everyone.

By the Numbers

Today, the vast majority of people in the Central Ohio region drive alone for their commute and have a long trek to the nearest trailhead. LinkUS will create more transportation options, increasing access to jobs, housing, greenspace and entertainment.

3.15 Million in the Central Ohio Region by 2050

According to the last census, Columbus is one of only 14 cities in the country that added over 100,000 people in the past 10 years.

85.6% Drive Alone for Their Commute

That’s a lot of cars on our highways! In just 25 years, we’ll have 726,000 more people, which is why smart transportation planning is critical.

81,970 Jobs Within 40 Minutes Via Transit

The first three LinkUS projects — or “corridors” — will create access to more than 380,000 jobs!

13.6% Live Within a Half-mile Walk of a Trail

LinkUS will expand and connect trails — or as we like to call them, “greenways” — to create vibrant, green communities.
